About the space

Since 1808, The Grand served as the town hall of Amsterdam. The Council Chamber was renovated in 1924 as the space where the city council sat. Meanwhile, the Council Chamber has the status of a historic monument. The Council Chamber is characterized by its special decoration and painted, carved wooden panels.

In this special setting, our former queen, Princess Beatrix, got married in 1966.
